According to this article from Reuters, scientists believe that greenhouse gasses will affect climate earlier than previously believed. Estimates reached alarming levels:

The top end of the predictions, which range from 3.6 F-19.8 F, is double estimates produced so far and could make the world dramatically different in the future.

The time period for such predictions at the current rate of emissions is a mere 50 years.
